It is my greatest pleasure to announce that our colleague, Eminent Scholar Martin Munro, Winthrop-King Professor of French and Director of the Winthrop-King Institute for French and Francophone Studies, was selected as recipient of the highly prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship.

The Guggenheim is one of the most widely-recognized and selective distinctions in the arts, humanities, and sciences. Guggenheim Fellows are chosen through a rigorous application and peer review process based on prior career achievement and exceptional promise in their areas of expertise. It represents an immense recognition of Dr. Munro’s outstanding achievements in scholarship, as well as a true honor to the Department, the Winthrop-King Institute, the College, and FSU.
