Carine Schermann wins prestigious ACLS/Mellon Fellowship!
Carine Schermann is the recipient of the prestigious ASLS/Mellon Dissertation Innovation Fellowship for 2023-2024
It is our greatest pleasure to announce that our French doctoral candidate, Carine Schermann, was selected as the recipient of the prestigious Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Innovation Fellowship. This new fellowship program is designed to support emerging scholars as they pursue bold and innovative research in the humanities and interpretive social sciences. The program aims to make awards to doctoral students who show promise of leading their fields in important new directions. Carine will be benefiting from the fellowship to make progress on her dissertation project, entitled "Under the Skin: Monstrosity, Myth-Making, and Resistance Across and Beyond the Haitian-Dominican Border."
