Honorine Rouiller

Congratulations to Honorine Rouiller, PhD candidate in French, who was selected as the 2022 Tony DiBenedetto Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY).

From the Office of Graduate Fellowships and Awards (OGFA):

This award is bestowed upon the outstanding student employee that, on a daily basis, demonstrates strength, skill, and character while delivering inclusive customer service and always going above and beyond the duties of their role. Honorine's dedication to the mission of The Graduate School and OGFA, initiative, teamwork, and excellent customer service as a student employee is inspiring and a great example for other student employees.

Honorine's contributions to graduate education extend far beyond her job with OGFA. She works day in and day out to amplify the graduate experience at FSU. She has taught herself aspects of coding to develop and manage the office's website. She also co-supervises undergraduate interns, serves as a connector in capturing, sharing, and preserving graduate student experiences, and represents the office on the Honors, Scholars, & Fellows House Student Advisory Board, and the FSU International Communication and Outreach Group while volunteering in other capacities and previously serving as a TA.

Her favorite part about the job? "I love managing the Coffee and Conversation videos and interviewing graduate students from various backgrounds and disciplines. I get to hear about their research, where their passion for their topic comes from, and their day-to-day schedules. It is interesting to see the differences that exist between programs and across disciplines. I am also very inspired by students who manage a full-time job on top of being a full-time student and a mother/father of young children. At the end of each interview, I always have this rush of motivation and inspiration. If they can find the time to manage all of this, what’s my excuse?"
