Chanelle Dupuis' abstract “The Smell of Misery: How Odors Distinguish Social Classes in Émile Zola’s L’Assommoir and Gabrielle Roy’s Bonheur d’Occasion” has been accepted for SAMLA 91’s Undergraduate Research Forum. Chanelle is a French and Spanish co-major, and has been working on an honors thesis on the smell of misery in Emile Zola and Gabrielle Roy, under the direction of Dr. Aimee Boutin.
